Today I wanted to share with you a project that is close to my heart. A platform that reunites “green” accommodations in France. We can all do something for our planet. When traveling, we tend to not pay attention to our actions towards the environment. However, as a traveler, we can do something for our planet just with the choice of our accommodation.
I discovered Vaovert during the Tourism Talks 2019, a conference run in Lyon Tourism School (IEFT). Around that time I reckon they just launched the project. I was immediately charmed and believed in the initiative.

Since 2018, Vaovert has put travelers concerned about their impact on the environment in touch with eco-responsible accommodation providers. Cottages for a family getaway, bed and breakfast for a romantic weekend, unusual accommodation to prolong the change of scenery, campsites where to get away from it all as close as possible to nature, hotels where you can recharge your batteries between two hikes: Vaovert brings together all types of accommodation and adapts to all your travel desires!

Hotel and accommodations sustainability in general is on the rise! More than a trend, it is a an evolution of awareness by travelers from all over the world. Consumers are becoming more aware of their carbon footprint, and are taking steps to reduce it – including opting for eco-friendly travel.
Green Travel benefits hotels in a lot of various ways: from saving costs in the long term by reducing the consumption of resources, recycling, building a solid foundation for the next generations, following the changing customer preferences step by step.
