The turquoise waters of Lake Annecy had already jumped to my eyes many times on my smartphone screen. Recently settled in Lyon, I had no excuse to go from virtual to real. During a weekend I went to visit Annecy and its surroundings to check its good reputation. I think that the suspense will not last long.
Between lake and mountains, this autumnal visit promises to be masterful.
During my little getaway, I found an exceptional address, sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the city, by choosing the haven of peace combining Art Deco style with a touch of modernity. The Hôtel des Trésoms finds its charm in the alchemy of opposites. Between lake and mountains, blazing light and soft romanticism, city and country… This hotel deploys its know-how and innovations to make you feel at home, in this out-of-this-world cocoon conducive to escape and the exaltation of the senses. Because luxury is time for yourself.
You can recharge your batteries in complete peace of mind and offer your body the most delicate treatments. The Trésoms spa reveals all its softness for moments of pure relaxation with a unique view of Lake Annecy.
The insolent sun increases the colors and intensifies the reflections. I am subjugated by the turquoise hue of the lake. The pontoons are invitations to continue the discovery on board a boat. Cycling around the lake is a great experience. I highly recommend it.
When you arrive, start by visiting the old town of Annecy. The center has a lot of charm, I love its small streets and the streams that cross the city. There are many shops, artisans, ice cream parlors, terraces and no cars… everything we like! Stroll along the canal and get lost in the alleys.
I recommend you to eat a Savoyard speciality at Mamie Lise’s: this restaurant decorated in a chalet spirit proposes Savoyard specialities and mountain wines. The ingredients are of high quality.
For dessert, go to the Glacier des Alpes which is one of the best ice cream parlors in France!
What could be better than a little warm-up with a view to start the day well? I advise you to do the Mont Veyrier and Mont Baron hike: several itineraries are possible. Count 2h30-3h of walking and many viewpoints!
If you prefer a more aquatic outing, I recommend you to do some canyoning at the beautiful Angon waterfall.
You can’t visit Annecy without doing an activity on the lake! The options are numerous, there is something for everyone:
- Rent a pedal boat or a small boat without a license. You will find many service providers on the shores of the lake. The prices are about the same everywhere.
- Rent a paddle or a kayak.
- Go water skiing or wakeboarding.
