Finistère is a small paradise in Brittany for a roadtrip with magnificent landscapes including white sandy beaches and turquoise water but also small unsuspected villages where quietness and Breton charm are revealed. A roadtrip in Finistère can be done with your eyes closed and you just have to take advantage of what this beautiful department offers.
Finistère is clearly turned towards the ocean and over the kilometers you will be amazed, especially on the coastline with a succession of bays and points.
I hope these spots will inspire you for your next trips in Brittany.
The peninsula of Crozon is a must in Finistère with its diversity of landscapes. The beaches with turquoise water, in particular the beach of the Virgin Island, the small villages, the fortifications or the viewpoints from the high cliffs overhanging the coastline, all good opportunities to have a crush on this place.
Port Doelan will have been the good surprise in Finistère. This cute village facing the ocean with its two lighthouses on either side of the shore, its quietness and beauty make it a place not to be missed.
The beaches of Brignogan in the north of Finistère are known for their white sand and turquoise water and we were able to verify it. The village of Brignogan is cute but my favorite place is the lighthouse of Pontusval which dominates a beautiful landscape.
Typical of the Brittany region, thatched cottages preserve the authentic, traditional and historical side of the villages. I was able to see them up close in the village of Kerascoet and Kercanic not far from Concarneau.
The Petit Minou lighthouse is a must-see if you are visiting Finistère. Near the city of Brest and in front of the Crozon peninsula, this very nice lighthouse proudly dominates its rocky islet.
Meneham is a small isolated village facing the ocean where you can discover thatched cottages and more typical a house built between two big rocks which gives a lot of charm to the place. Meneham is a classified site and its location on the coast of the Legends is just perfect if you want to have a good time.
The Corsen point is the most western point of continental France. Apart from this anecdote, it is mainly the landscape and the viewpoints that I loved here. The panorama towards the beach of Charettes is my favorite.
Concarneau is a beautiful city in Finistère, we come here to enjoy its sandy beaches but also and especially for its old town. The famous walled city which is a fortified island in the center surrounded by ramparts and with small streets full of charm.
