November is often associated with the beginning of winter and the anticipation of Christmas. The Trip My France team has made a selection of their favorite destinations for November. France is full of beautiful cities to explore, places to go hiking or beautiful landscapes.
Especially in the southern part of the country, we can still find sun and autumnal temperatures. |
First of all, Corsica is the region with the best climate in France. The Island of Beauty is full of charming cities like Ajaccio, Bastia, Bonifacio, Calvi or Porto-Vecchio. It offers local specialties that are just delicious with cold cuts and fish.
Corsica offers also beautiful hiking trails to discover with magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea, wild rivers and waterfalls. |
Even if the sea will be cooler in November, it will still be possible to walk on the beaches or on the coastal paths.
One thing is for sure: the sun will be shining!

Alsace is a region that we can visit all year round. Places such as Colmar, Riquewhir, Eguisheim, Kaysersberg, or Neuf-Brisach with their famous half-timbered houses are known all over the world.
At the end of November in Alsace, the Christmas markets start to take place. The most spectacular one is in Strasbourg, but you’ll find some Christmas markets in each and every village in Alsace between late November and the end of December.?

Aix en Provence is a beautiful city in the south of France. It has an exceptional Provencal heritage. The city is full of colorful alleys, fountains, terms or even bourgeois buildings.
In November, Aix en Provence is always very dynamic. The must-taste of the city is the calisson of Aix based on candied melon, crushed almonds and candied orange peel. |
Nice remains one of the sunniest destinations in France all year long. You can take a wonderful walk along the famous Promenade des Anglais or along the coastal path.
The “city of Angels” is full of places to visit like the Parc du Château, with a splendid view of the Cap d’Antibes, and even of Corsica when the sky is clear!
You’ll treat your palates there with local specialties such as the Socca made of chickpea flour, the pissaladière, the Pan Bagnat or the Niçoise salad that you can taste in the colorful streets of the old Nice. |
Close to this city, the perched villages of the south allow you to recharge your batteries. The places are almost deserted at this time.
The most famous ones like Eze-sur-mer, Saint Paul de Vence or Saint Agnès, will allow you to find pavement streets lined with small stores, pretty churches without forgetting the incredible views on the Mediterranean. |
Paris is a city that we can visit all year round, because there are many activities to do indoors.
Indeed, we advise you to visit the essential museums of the capital like the Louvre, the Orsay museum, the Grévin museum (celebrities represented in wax) or the science museum.
Paris is also known for the pleasure of young and old alike with the Disneyland Paris Park, which is located just a few steps from the capital. |
Finally, some more typical things like the Moulin Rouge, will allow you to participate in a night out, with an atmosphere filled with music, lights, champagne and cancan dancers.
The Trip My France blog is full of ideas for exceptional visits in the capital. |
The weather is still favorable in November in Montpellier. This city is full of points of interest such as the superb Place de la Comédie, the sublime Saint Pierre cathedral dating back to the 1300’s or the medieval alleys of the historical center. Also to walk in the heart of the city to discover the photogenic streets of the Ancien Courrier or in the one of the Trésoriers de la Bourse. |
Finally, we take you to one of the most beautiful cities in France to discover in November: Lyon.
Lyon is full of an exceptional heritage, with the narrow streets of the Old Lyon and the majestic basilica of Fourvière located on top of a hill.
In Lyon you will be able to taste one of the best gastronomy of France, indeed it is the world capital of the gastronomy. The Bouchons Lyonnais are the must of the city, on the menu, you can taste andouillette, salade lyonnaise or tablier de sapeur.
For the little anecdote, the premises of Trip My France is located very close to Lyon.
