Every year, the month of February announces the coming of the Carnivals. So why not spend a weekend with your family at the Nice Carnival?
This year, the Nice Carnival will take place from February 11 to 27, 2022 on the theme “King of the Animals”. Come and admire the King, Queen and their subjects and participate in the extravagant float parades, big heads and elegant Flower Battles. For 15 days, the Carnival of Nice, with its carnival Corsi and the Battles of Flowers, will impose its style and offer you a burlesque, magical and initiatory show.
The floats created on the theme of the King of Animals will parade during the Corsi carnavalesques, accompanied by big heads and artists in a festive and popular atmosphere. On Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, come and discover the other highlight of the Carnival: the Battles of Flowers where the theme will be presented on floats decorated with flowers that promote local production and animated by actresses wearing costumes specially designed for the event. And don’t forget, young and old, dress up from head to toe!
The grandstands offer you a much better view, but beware of young children who do not pay the entrance fee, they do not have a seat, so they are on your lap!
If your children are not very patient, prefer to stand! You will put them on your shoulders, and leave them on the ground to move behind the crowd!
The flowers used allow to value the floral heritage of the region. Indeed, we use only the flowers of the French Riviera. It takes between 4 and 5,000 flowers sown from the month of November, to achieve the decoration of the floats.
Thus, the floats are decorated with flowers 72 hours before by florists. They are also surrounded by folk groups and dancers. On the floats, there are charming young women who animate the parade and distribute flowers to the public.
To reach Nice by freeway you will have to take the A8 freeway and exit at Nice Airport.
Nice has an international airport. So the destination is very well served.
To get around Nice, you can use public transportation. Nice is very well served by bus and tramway. You can find all the schedules and prices on the Ligne d’Azur website.
If you want more freedom in renting a car, I advise you to go to Hertz or Sixt.
